Minto no Ie

This episode seemed like an awesome start to the new arc. I think I’m going to enjoy this arc the most, because there are more ‘new’ characters and it’s always amusing to watch Mikoto’s silliness. It was also hilarious to watch Touma’s reaction to shorts and panty shots. This episode had some of the funniest scenes I’ve seen in this series so far. Call me corny, but I found it hilarious when Misaka (the “sister”) wanted to call the cat ‘inu’, and then ‘Tokugawa Ieyasu’. Her face looked hilarious, and I couldn’t understand if she was doing it on purpose to tease Touma. Great episode, in terms of action! I thought it was going to be another ‘those are only illusions, which are not real’ kind of corny episode right in the middle of the running time, then I found out about the real issue. I thought it was a pretty cool fight, and smart of Touma to just figure out like that. I guess my only complaint is… Touma was really able to ignore the pain of a dismembered limb, really? Styl’s explanation seemed accurate: the pain numbed his brain. Berserk!Touma is pretty awesome to watch. (more…)

Is it just me, or is this show becoming more and more… well, complicated? Usually, I wouldn’t mind, but their plot devices are starting to become more and more farfetched to the point that I think my brain is giving up already, like it just doesn’t want to make an effort to understand anymore. Also, I think the characters are becoming less and less appealing. I just wish there was some quirk that would put better light to this show, or at least give it much better character development. Quite an uneventful episode. It was just an introduction for the next ‘arc’, which in my opinion doesn’t seem that important other than emphasizing development for Touma and his powers, and the fact that he’s probably going to be fighting with Styl and company from now on - and the fact that he’s doing it all blindly, since he can’t a remember a thing from his past. I think it’s rather dumb of him to just assume that everything he’s doing is ‘correct’ just because the events are coming naturally. I mean, why doesn’t he just admit he doesn’t have his memory, even to someone else other than Index? Will it really hurt that much? (more…)

The introduction(?) is finally done, and the next arc is going to begin next episode. Hurray, because this looks like something that will get better as each arc passes. The ‘climax’ was supposed to be the first half of this episode, but I didn’t enjoy it all that well because the dialogue was terrible, with the lengthy speeches and how they suddenly reach their goal after morphing working together. The second half was really good though, even if it didn’t have any action. (more…)
