Katekyo Hitman Reborn! - 96

Summary: Hibari’s training Tsuna until Tsuna’s flame dies out. Hibari gives a yawn and ends their training. Afterwards, Tsuna is thinking about his past fights and figures out how to use the X-Burner by using the pressure of his flames. Next scene is Yamamoto’s training, and apparently, he still cannot avoid all of Reborn’s bullets.Tsuna is walking around when he sees Lambo (who is counting candies) who hides behind a box once he sees Tsuna. Tsuna remembers that he had yelled at Lambo and Haru, telling them that they knew nothing about what had happened. Lambo, thinking Tsuna’s gone, is surprised to find a trail of candies. While following it, Tsuna comes out and starts tickling him, and the two of them patch things up. Next, Tsuna finds Haru who still appears to be crying. When he’s approaching her, he accidentally falls down a flight of stairs. Haru, in a panic, sees if he’s alright, then he suddenly apologizes to her. She becomes embarassed at this. Haru finds out that Tsuna had already apologized to Lambo, and Haru’s happy again.

Tsuna goes to train again. Yamamoto’s training with Reborn when they hear loud noises and the two of them decide to check on Tsuna. When they arrive to the place Tsuna is training, they see cracks on the wall where Tsuna hit himself against. Reborn muses that the technique Tsuna is trying so hard to master is a very powerful one.

Back in Hibari’s place, Hibari and Ryohei are having another quarrel. Ryohei is pissed that Lambo and I-pin aren’t allowed to play in Hibari’s place. Even when Kusakabe sorts it all out, Ryohei and Hibari still want to fight anyway. Kusakabe finds out that Ryohei had given I-pin a doll of her master. Meanwhile, Bianchi and Fuuta are tending to Chrome, who is currently having a dream. In her dream, she’s calling out for Mukuro. A piece of Mukuro’s weapon is floating to her, but it breaks into pieces as soon as it comes near her hand. Then, she sees a strange machine, but when she tries to touch it, a young Shouichi pushes her away. Shouichi then turns into his present self. Tsuna also had the same dream.

Tsuna finds a note from Reborn that he should check on Gokudera’s training, so Tsuna starts to look for him. He finds Yamamoto peeking into a room where Gokudera is, but when he calls out to Yamamoto, Yamamoto rushes to him and pushes him away just when the room explodes. Gokudera comes out with a cat on his head.

Thoughts: Animation quality was the same - good at some points and akward at others. Lambo’s face was deformed on most of the frames he was in. Still, I enjoyed that small scene with Hibari and Ryohei. It was hilarious, because Ryohei’s incredibly childish even in this era. Hibari’s the same, just bored and yawning all the time. He had some snarky comments for Ryohei, and it’s funny to see that he just doesn’t proceed to beat up Ryohei like his younger self who just charged at anyone. Hibari and Ryohei’s relationship is pretty entertaining to watch, especially since they barely spoke in the past.I kind of wish the animators did a much better job on the scene with Tsuna and Lambo, though. It was one of my most favorite scenes in the manga because it was so cute and it just shows what kind of character Tsuna really is. It’s just hard to appreciate when Lambo’s face is that deformed. Besides, if you look at the preview pics below, you’ll see how bad Uri (the cat) looks. He(she?) looks like some bad cartoon character from some afternoon kid’s show.

Preview for next episode: Gokudera’s chasing the cat!
