Katekyo Hitman Reborn! - 98

Summary: Shouichi finally gets in touch with Byakuran, who informs him that the spy had been Mukuro. When asked if he had killed him, Byakuran doesn’t reply directly and changes the topic. They talk about what Mukuro had accomplished and the fact that he had been transmitting information to the Vongola. He tells Shouichi that it’s likely that an attack will come soon, but Shouichi is confident that he will be ale to get the Rings. As soon as their conversation is over, Shouichi orders an emergency meeting.

Back in the Vongola base, Haru and Kyoko are feeding Gokudera’s cat with fish. I-pin says that the cat is very cute, but Lambo says he is much cuter. Gokudera apologizes profusely for the trouble he has caused, and Tsuna asks what the cat is doing there in the first place. Gokudera admits that he knew he could just place it back in the box, but it so happened that he had grown quite attached to it. Bianchi arrives and comments about how Gokudera is not taking training seriously, but Gokudera replies that he has already mastered what he needed. Then, Ryohei arrives and says that there’s a meeting - when he sees Kyoko and Haru, he comes up with another silly excuse.

They are shown some blueprints of a base and assume it was Mukuro who had sent it, though they also agree that it’s strange that Mukuro would be helping them. Tsuna realizes that these blueprints were some things he saw in his dream.

Back in the Millefiore base, Shouichi has gathered everyone and announces that he will act as a boss as a stand-in for Byakuran, because it’s predicted that the base will be attacked soon. He asks anyone who has objections to step forward, and Gamma says he does - then a swordsman jumps out of nowhere. He says anyone who opposes Shouichi will have to deal with him.

In the Vongola meeting, Lal Mirch is yelling at Tsuna in disbelief after he tells them about his ‘dream’. After Reborn voices his oppinions about it being vital, he tells Yamamoto that they’re off to training.

Later on, Tsuna finds Kyoko and Haru and wonders where Gokudera is. They tell him that Haru had persuaded to give the cat a bath, since it was so dirty already. In the bathroom, Gokudera is trying to clean the cat but it simply proceeds to scratch him repeatedly until he’s defeated on the floor, and Tsuna finds him that way. Meanwhile, Reborn has given Yamamoto a number of tapes that he can use for practice.

Thoughts: I think something that irks me is that the introduction is too long. It’s so obvious that the animation team is stalling for time. I guess it’s okay because the ‘filler’ scenes they put in this time was okay - the one where Haru persuaded Gokudera to give the cat a bath. It was quite funny watching them argue.
