Minto no Ie

I think this is the first time they animated Anise’s puppet, and I thought it looked pretty cool in a silly kind of way. I don’t know why, but I found it so funny to see Anise ride this huge stuffed toy. And, I still hate Arietta (Arrietta?). I’m too lazy to find out who her voice actor is, but hell did she have an annoying voice. Maybe it’s on purpose, but just like the English version of the game, her yelling is way more dramatic than it should be.

Continuing from last episode, the group meets up with Anise who is at the border that seperated Malkuth from Kimlasca. They don’t have passports, but Van comes to save the day. They all talk and are still confused about everyone’s sides, but Tear decides to stop attacking her brother for the time being. When they arrive at Malkuth territory, the ship that they’re supposed to ride to go back to Luke’s hometown is burning. Arietta takes the only engineer who can fix it to Choral castle, demanding that Luke and Ion come in exchange for him.

Despite Van telling them not to go, the group arrives at Choral castle, where Anise accidentally glomps Guy. Guy has an unusually violent reaction and gets a short glimpse of a woman jumping on him. He reveals that his phobia probably as something to do with the only thing missing from his memory, the day his family was killed.

One of Arietta’s monsters comes and abducts Luke, taking him away. The rest of the party battle Arietta, while Luke is unconscious and being examined under a strange machine. After Arietta is defeated, they all go to rescue Luke. Guy gets hold of a CD in the process, and the person he got it from flees.

Impressions: As much as I hate Luke’s personality at the moment, his expressions are still adorable. That frame was when they read Anise’s ‘confession’ to him. He puts on an embarassed(?) but proud(?) face, which I swear should be accompanied with “Ehehehe.”

I also love how Jade keeps teasing Luke and Tear in a ‘Oh did I just do that?’ kind of nonchalant way. His sarcastic comments are always too amusing. We also got a glimpse of some Van and Luke pedophilia, and if that’s your thing, will be even more apparent in the next episode (was that a spoiler?).
