Tales of the Abyss - 11
Well, I’m starting to appreciate this series again, which is a real relief. For one thing, they actually dedicated one whole episode to Jade’s past, which was (I think) a lot more than the game gave. Of course, there were any cool flashback scenes in the game, as far as I recall. It was just talking. This was kind of cool, since they actually gave Nebilim some character. By the way, her ‘failed replica’ was the most difficult enemy in the game. You know, the optional boss who is way more powerful than the game’s last boss and gives you awesome loot.
I didn’t even know that it was Dist who tinkered around with Tokunaga! That was an interesting fact. I also liked how the anime emphasizes the relationship between Jade, Dist, Nephy and Peony when they were younger. I thought they were a pretty cute gang, and Peony happens to be one of my favorite characters. I also realized that I’m not the only one who thought Jade’s replicating disasters were similar to FMA, and that it was stupid to hide Peony’s face and then just show it in the previews, etc., anyway.
