Minto no Ie

For some reason, I find the characters really amusing. It’s cool that most of them have at least one thing that makes them different from all the stereotypes out there, even though these ‘things’ are pretty trivial. I think it’s pretty awesome how Index literally bites the hell out of Touma everytime she’s upset with him. I also think it’s extremely cute how Komoe acts nothing like her appearance, aside from when she’s pouting. I also think it’s pretty cool how she knows exactly what time it is just from her biological clock.

This episode, Komoe is guided by Index to use magic, which leads to the healing of Index’s wounds. The next morning, when Touma returns, Komoe demands to know his relationship to Index - who he jokingly says is his sister. After scolding him, Komoe wants to know what is going on so she can tell the school board, but Touma refuses to. After saying that she’s just going to get food, she tells them that she usually forgets things while she’s shopping, but she expects them to explain when she returns.

Index then explains to Touma about the books she has memorized. She had memorized these because if a person were to get a hand of all of them, he could bring absolute chaos, which was why she has the task of hiding them. At the same time, Steel Magnis and a girl are watching them from across the apartment building. Later that night, it appears that Komoe had ‘forgotten’ about her interrogations. Touma and Index are going towards the bath house when the two of them have an argument when Index thinks Touma is angry. After biting him all over again, Index runs away. While looking for her, Touma realizes that there are no people in the supposedly busy intersection. A girl (the one watching them from before( comes out explains that she had used runes.

Impressions: Strange enough, I think what I like about Touma is that there’s nothing much special about him. He doesn’t have quirks like Index and Komoe. He’s caring but not in a sissy kind of way, and he also called Index ‘princess’ when she was upset with him (before she bit him and ran away). He also has really sheepish expressions, as if he finds everything Index says so amusing.

Index, on the other hand, is obviously starting to get very attached to Touma. Even Komoe noticed this when she found out Index was saving herself more because she was worried that Touma would blame himself. I think the character development is really good and going in a stable pace, because it’s in a way that you can see how and why they care for each other in a way that things aren’t rushed.
