Toradora! - 08
This episode was quite funny, but not the funniest, I suppose. Minori’s painted eyes cracked me up, though. It took me a while to realize what the hell was wrong with her face, and I had to pause it before I realized she was actually sleeping and put the ‘fake eyes’ on. I wish one of my classmates would do that. I think it would look a bit creepy, but I swear, I’m going to burst out laughing. Like I said before, I’m liking Minori’s character more and more.
Taiga’s ‘confession’ (”Ryuuji is mine!”) really surprised me, especially since it was so melodramatic, like she suddenly got an epiphany. It was similar to all those romantic movies where the couple live happily ever after, then Taiga goes off and says she meant it because Ryuuji’s ‘her dog’. I don’t know if she decided to change the story afterwards or if that’s what she really meant during her whole breakdown, but I think it’s pretty interesting how Taiga’s so obviously attached to Ryuuji now. I still can’t help but think that Ryuuji’s treating her too much like a younger sister, though. Ami, on the other hand, suddenly seems so into Ryuuji - and it doesn’t seem like she’s faking it. All in all, I really love the character development, even though the animation bites at times.
